Crossways Counselling Service is overseen by a group of trustees, who bring a wide variety of skills and experience to the work of Crossways. If you are interested in volunteering to be a trustee for Crossways please contact us.

Management Team

Jane Saunders

Jane Saunders is a BACP Senior Accredited Counsellor and Supervisor and
has been Director of Crossways since helping to set it up in 2000.
Before qualifying  as a psychotherapist in 1997 she was an officer in
the Royal Navy.
She worked as the Counselling and Bereavement Manager for Macmillan
until retiring from the NHS in 2022.  She  has a private Counselling and
Supervision Practice and coordinates Pastoral Care for St Stephens church.
Jane is married with 3 children and has lived in Haslemere for 35 years..

Colin Gow

Colin is the treasurer of Crossways.  He is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant and worked in London, in 2007 he moved to Haslemere.  He is married with two growing up daughters.

Jenny Noble

Jenny manages the Stewards’ rota at Crossways.

Helena Polson – Secretary To Trustees

After a career in social work, Helena qualified as a counsellor and has volunteered for counselling charities including Crossways. Helena currently works as an administrator for a local church. She is passionate about being part of a charity offering access to affordable local counselling.

Dr. Simon Dunbar

Simon Dunbar recently retired as a GP. He trained at St Bartholomew’s hospital in London. He is married with 4 children and enjoys tennis and golf.

Tessa Trollope

Tessa Trollope lives in Fernhurst West Sussex, attends St Margaret’s Church and is a retired Counsellor.

Carol Keith

Carol qualified to be a Counsellor ten years ago and worked at Crossways for many years. She is passionate about the value of Counselling and is excited to be a part of nurturing and growing the incredible service that Crossways provides in the community.

Rev. Justin Manley-Cooper

Rev. Justin Manley-Cooper is the curate of Haslemere Parish, being the benefice of St. Bartholomews, St. Christopher’s and All Saints Grayswood. He has lived in Haslemere since 1996 and is married to Lucy. They have three children.

Jack Robson

Alongside his passion for music, culture, and a lifestyle of worship, Jack also serves on the leadership team of 3 Counties Vineyard Church, as well as being involved in many other aspects of community life in his local town, such as serving as a Governor for his local Junior school. In 2020, he graduated from Roehampton University with first class honours in Anthropology. He has spent many years working in the local community, whether at the local ice cream parlour or in various roles within Church and Youth Work. He currently works for a Christian Charity called Emerge Advocacy who work with young people, aged 10 – 25, admitted into hospital in a mental health crisis.
He is married to the gorgeous Alice Robson, and together, with their Foster Dog, they regularly get out into the local countryside whatever the British weather. Jack also makes sure to keep up with all things Star Trek, and if ever you are at a loss of what to talk to Jack about, just say those two words (or mention his favourite series of all, DS9) and he’ll be going for hours!

Bethany Gorniak

Bethany has worked with young people throughout her adult life in a variety of youth work roles. She currently works for a youth mental health charity in Guildford – Emerge Advocacy – supporting young people who have attended hospital following self-harm or a suicide attempt.

She has many years of experience in the charity sector and has held a range of roles, giving her a broad understanding of supporting young people and the organisations that serve them.

Bethany lives in Scotland with her husband, Alasdair, and their son.

Abi White

Abi grew up in the local area, attending Shottermill and Woolmer Hill schools before going on to further education and starting her career in charity fundraising.
Her first role was at the homeless charity, Crisis, where she helped establish the food redistribution charity FareShare in 2002.
Abi is currently Senior Head of Individual Supporters & Events at The King’s Trust – the national charity helping young people into work, no matter what challenges they’re facing.
Abi lives with her husband, daughter and two cats in Bordon.
